'Wicken Wonders' Photography Competition
Do you enjoy taking lovey snaps of your village? Have you taken some images in the last year that are worthy of credit? If so, we are giving you the chance to win a £10 John Lewis voucher.
The images will be judged in 3 categories (age 9 and under, age 10-15 & age 16 and over) by well respected professionals in the MK arts community, Roger Kitchen and Lee Scriven.

To submit your entry, please go to wetransfer.com, add your photos, your email address and for the 'Email to' field, please enter 'firstname.lastname@example.org', then just add 'Photography Competition' for the 'Message' field. 'Wicken Wonders' Photography Competition 2019 Terms and Conditions
We, Wicken Village Community (also referred to as WVC), are organising this competition to celebrate Wicken village life, offering the category winners a £10 John Lewis gift voucher. These will be awarded to the person who (in the judges’ opinion) submits the best photo in each age category on the competition theme 'Wicken Wonders'. Entries must be submitted by 23.59 hrs on Tuesday 30 July 2019.
The images will be judged in three age categories, these being:
- aged 9 and below
- aged 10 - 15
- aged 16 and over
The Promotion is open to anyone.
Entrants under the age of 16 must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian prior to submitting any images. Any entry by someone under 16 will not be deemed complete unless the following information is provided:
- the child’s name;
- the child’s age;
- the parent/guardian’s name; and,
- a contact telephone number and email.
3. How to enter
All images entered must:
- be within the Parish of Wicken
- be a colour or black & white image
- have been taken within the last 12 months prior to the final submission date
- be submitted via email to email@example.com by 23.59 hrs on Tuesday 30 July 2019
We regret that we are unable to accept postal entries.
Late, incomplete or corrupt entries will not be accepted.
Entrants must supply their name, email address and/or phone number and where the image(s) was/were taken on the email.
All images entered must not be:
- a close-up shot (e.g. macro shots of flowers and insects)
- entirely composed picture from software (e.g. by CGI)
No more than 3 images may be submitted per person. If more than 3 images per person are received, such entries may be deemed void and such entrant may be disqualified from the competition.
4. Intellectual property rights, originality and permissions
Entrants must ensure that the photographs they are submitting are their own work, that they own the copyright for them (where relevant) and that they do not infringe the copyright or other rights of any third party or any laws.
It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the consent of anyone who is identifiable in that image or the consent of their parent/guardian if they are under 16 and that they have been advised of the purpose of the submission and that their photograph may be published by WVC.
Entrants will retain copyright and moral rights in their submitted images however, by entering, all entrants grant WVC, without any remuneration being due, to:
- display images in the Wicken News and on the Wicken village website
- use the images to promote future competitions
- downloading of images from Wicken village website by any person or organisation
WVC may wish to publish photographs of the category winners and other entrants in the Wicken News and on the Wicken Village website. Entrants consent to the use of their photographs for these purposes, unless specifically request to WVC beforehand that their photograph should not appear for these purposes.
5. The prize
The winners of each age category will receive a £10 John Lewis gift voucher.
6. How it will be Judged; notification
All valid entries will be judged to see which is the most visually appealing interpretation of the competition theme.
The winners will be chosen by independent judges with the results being notified at an Awards Ceremony to be held at Wicken Sports Club expected to be held during August 2019, but actual date to be advised.
If Winners are not able to attend the Awards Ceremony, they will be notified by email or phone afterwards. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available within 2 weeks of contact being made, the judges reserve the right to disqualify them and select another winner from the eligible entries which were received before the competition closing date.
WVC's decision is binding in all matters relating to this competition, and no correspondence shall be entered into.
7. Limitation of liability
WVC excludes all liability for any losses and/or damages of whatever nature and howsoever arising to the fullest extent permitted by applicable laws.
It is a condition of entry that all terms and conditions are adhered to. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
