Northants Neighbourhood Watch AGM Briefing Oct 2019
| To All Northants Coordinators and Deputies, This is just a brief update following our AGM on 1st October 2019. Despite the weather we had a well-attended meeting as usual. We had presentations and an open forum from the police and the office of the Police, Fire Crime Commissioner with questions and answers to • Chief Superintendent Mick Stamper, Head of Neighbourhood Policing & Partnerships • Chief Inspector James Willis (Neighbourhood Policing) • Paul Fell, Director of Delivery for the Office of the Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner Areas of discussion included Operation Crooked; the Force’s structural review; Neighbourhood Alerts, and Police recruitment. We also had an update on Crime prevention initiatives from Kate Bailey, Crime Prevention Officer. A brief update on Neighbourhood Watch at National and County Level preceded the AGM.(see below) (i) Minutes of the AGM of 25th September 2018 (ii) Chair’s report (iii) Treasurer’s report (iv) Election of officers: Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary and Treasurer Chair Nick King had decided to stand down, and Alan Earle was elected Chair Vice-Chair Andy Crisp was re-elected as Vice Chair Secretary Katina Turovica was re-elected as Secretary Treasurer Mary Prickett had decided to stand down, and Paul Goddard was elected as Treasurer Full Draft minutes will be circulated when available, along with any presentation material. Moving forward we know from feedback from Members and some recent research, that a well-run Active NHW scheme does help build stronger and safer communities, this coupled with a good local relationship with the Neighbourhood Policing teams also helps reduce crime and the fear of crime. Supporting our Active Schemes with Signage , Stickers, and the Toolkits (https://www.ourwatch.org.uk/toolkits/) and increasing our membership throughout the county will be one of our key focuses. The DAN stickers will be relaunched in the very near future, and they will start to be distributed as soon as we have these in stock. We will next year be launching a new NHW Registration Scheme, as well as a New Webb Site, but more about that nearer the launch date. Best Regards Alan Earle
